According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Besiktas are pushing to sign Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu.
The report stated that the 'Black and White team has made a loan offer with a purchase option for the 22-year-old', 'following manager Vincenzo Italiano's request for reinforcements on both wings'.
Milliyet added that the Foxes are 'evaluating the offer', and 'if Leicester City does not accept the loan offer, Besiktas will move to acquire Fatawu permanently'.
The Istanbul-based outfit reportedly 'plan to make an offer in the range of 15 million euros for the talented footballer, whose current value is 20 million euros'.
Leicester City's dire financial position means that they have no option but to sell in the forthcoming summer transfer window, with a number of top assets set to depart the King Power Stadium.
Fatawu joined the club on a permanent deal in July of 2024 off the back of a mightily impressive loan spell with the East Midlands outfit, where he scored six goals and recorded 13 assists in Leicester's 2023/24 Championship-winning season.
The 2024/25 term was one of disappointment for both the Foxes and Fatawu. While Leicester were relegated back to the Championship in 18th place, the Ghanaian winger made just 11 appearances before being sidelined with an ACL injury.
Leicester defeated Fiorentina 2-0 on 3rd August 2025, just a week before their 2025/26 Championship opener. While pre-season friendlies are rarely memorable occasions, it did mark a return to the scoresheet for Fatawu after a lengthy absence, and teammate Stephy Mavididi later took to Instagram, posting: 'Get your (popcorn emoji) ready, we gonna have fun this szn'.
While Fatawu found the net on nine occasions and registered eight assists in the 2025/26 Championship term, the campaign was certainly not a fun one for Leicester supporters.
They will return to the third tier in the 2026/27 season just over 10 years on from lifting the Premier League. Irrespective of if Besiktas secure Fatawu's signature, the 22-year-old is practically certain to leave the club.
