Arsenal v Chelsea head-to-head record ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash

Two of the early Premier League pacesetters meet in a blockbuster showdown this weekend.

Reigning champions Arsenal have kicked off their title defence in hugely impressive fashion, seeing off top-flight newbies Coventry City in comfortable fashion on the opening weekend, before overcoming UEFA Champions League rivals Aston Villa on away soil last time out.

They will undoubtedly face their trickiest challenge to date though when they host a resurgent Chelsea side at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Xabi Alonso's men have been the great entertainers thus far, scoring a league-high seven times across their two league fixtures with Fulham (3-2 ) and Brighton & Hove Albion (4-3).

It sets the scene perfectly for what is a hugely anticipated 213th meeting between.

For those looking for an historical angle to this weekend's fixture, it's the Gunners who boast a superior head-to-head record in meetings between the two sides.

They have won 87 of the 212 previous clashes in contrast to the 64 victories Chelsea have chalked up.

A total of 61 matches have ended all-square including three of the last eight.

Interestingly, Arsenal are unbeaten against the Blues the last 11 times they have met, with Chelsea's most recent triumph occurring back in August 2021

Since that 2-0 victory at the Emirates, Arsenal have reigned supreme eight times, including three occasions last term.

A 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League was the first of four fixtures between the pair in 2025/26, with Arsenal subsequently winning each of the two EFL Cup semi-final clashes, as well as the second top-flight encounter.

Over the past decade, Chelsea have claimed the bragging rights at the Emirates just twice, a record they will be desperately keen to improve upon this weekend as they bid to dent Arsenal's hopes of retaining their league crown.
