Alexandra Eala has been one of the standout players on the WTA Tour in recent months and many are predicting the rising star could go far in Flushing Meadows this year.
The 21-year-old claimed her maiden WTA Tour singles title after a dramatic DC Open final victory over Jessica Pegula at the start of August.
Eala lost the first set to the American when the match was suspended due to heavy rain, but she turned the match on its head during the following day to claim a 4-6 6-4 6-0 success.
The win in Washington saw Eala become the first Filipino to record a singles title success on the tour and the star has attracted a huge number of new fans to the sport in recent weeks.
In 2026, Eala has amassed seven victories against top-10 opponents and is in the form of her life as she continues to try and break new ground at the US Open.

Eala's best showing at a Grand Slam is an impressive run to the last 16 at Wimbledon during an excellent grass season where she defeated some of the biggest names in tennis.
Seeded number 17 heading into the final major of the year, Eala has so far coped well with an elevated level of expectation - recording comfortable straight sets victories over Mary Stoiana and Oleksandra Oliynykova to set up an intriguing third round clash with fellow young star Iva Jovic.
The winner of Saturday's clash could play home favourite Coco Gauff, providing she beats Cristina Bucșa in her round of 32 contest.
