Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever Prediction, Props & Best Bets

Indiana Fever are looking to pick up an easy victory as the hapless Connecticut Sun return to Indianapolis for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. ET matchup.

The last time these two teams played here in July, the Fever set franchise records for most points in a half (70) and most points in a game (123) in a 35-point rout.

Caitlin Clark had 27 points and 11 assists, Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, and Aliyah Boston contributed 22 points in the blowout as Indiana shot 62% from the field and 50% (11-for-22) from beyond the arc.

Diamond Miller had 15 points to lead the Sun, who are completing a miserable final season in New England before moving to Houston for next season.

The Fever are 25-14 overall and 13-6 at home, where the team has won five of six. They are mired in a playoff seeding battle, with three games separating the No. 3 and No. 8 seeds. Indiana is currently fifth.

The Sun are a miserable 10-28 overall and 3-15 on the road. Connecticut has lost seven straight away from home, last winning on July 17.

Indiana has won both meetings between the teams this season and has a five-game win streak against the Sun. Can they complete the season sweep, and will they cover the massive point spread in doing so?

To find out who our experts believe will prevail in this matchup, as well as other prop picks, read our predictions below.

Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever betting picks and predictions

Indiana Fever -17.5 (-110)

The Sun are massive 17.5-point underdogs on the road, with a +1000 moneyline, while Indiana sits at -2000.

The Fever have covered in both previous meetings this season. They were 10.5-point favorites in last month's 35-point blowout, and covered an 8.5-point spread as favorites in a more modest 85-75 victory at Connecticut in June.

Indiana comes in riding high off a 113-90 triumph over Chicago Sky on Sunday to end a two-game losing streak and complete a 3-2 road trip.

Clark made a career-high eight three-pointers and totalled 37 points to go with eight assists, while Mitchell had 30 points.

Boston sat out the game to rest a lingering leg injury, but Lexie Hull filled in admirably with 14 points and Makayla Timpson added 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Fever made a franchise-record 18 3-pointers and now lead the league in scoring (96.6 ppg), field goal percentage (48.9%) and 3-point percentage (39.5%).

And now they get to face a Connecticut squad missing its top two scorers.

Brittney Griner (13,2 ppg, 5.8 rpg) will miss her seventh straight game tonight with a knee injury, while Laila Lacan (11.6 ppg, 4.6 apg, 1.7 spg) has escaped to Europe to play for France in the upcoming World Cup.

Without them, the Sun got smoked by Golden State Valkyries at home on Wednesday, 89-64. They trailed by as many as 35 points and were outrebounded, 42-30.

Charlisse Leger-Walker had a career-high 17 points for the Sun, but that was about it.

Connecticut can't score. The Sun average a league-worst 78.8 points per game. And they proved last time that they cannot stop a surging Fever squad that has scored 100 or more points 18 times this season.

Take Indiana to win and cover despite giving 17.5 points.

Over 177.5 points (-110)

These two teams played to the Under in June, and obliterated the Over last month, and that is the Indiana squad that will be on the floor here.

The Fever have played to the Over just five times in the past 10 games, but the total in each of those contests was 184.5 points or more.

Indiana is averaging 97.4 points in its last 10 games, and has scored 100 or more points five times during that stretch.

That franchise record of 123 points is in danger. Take the Over.
