Portland Fire vs. Dallas Wings: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Dallas Wings can clinch their first WNBA playoff berth in three years while also setting the franchise single-season record for wins tonight when they host the Portland Fire at 8 p.m. ET.

The Wings have won the first two games of a six-match homestand, including a 92-70 triumph over the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Paige Bueckers led all scorers with 32 points, while Jessica Shepard added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Awak Kuier (7 rebounds), Alanna Smith, Maddy Siegrist, and Sug Sutton contributed 9 points each as the Wings shot 48% (11-for-23) from beyond the arc. At 22-16, the Wings have the most wins since 2007, when the franchise was in Detroit, and is tied for the most victories since the franchise moved to Dallas.

The expansion Fire have considerably less history, and they are also all but eliminated. At 15-22, Portland has to win the rest of its games, and Dallas has to lose the rest of its contests for there to be even a possibility of a playoff berth.

The Fire haven't helped their cause by losing two straight, including a crushing 105-100 home defeat to Washington on Sunday despite holding a lead in the fourth quarter.

Carla Leite had 27 points and 11 assists, and Emily Engstler made five 3-pointers en route to a 23-point, 6-rebound performance. Megan DiLeo had 21 points, followed by Bridget Carleton with 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals.

This is the third and final meeting between the teams this season. Portland won the inaugural matchup in June at home, 84-83. Dallas returned the favor a month later with a 101-97 victory, also in Portland.

Will Dallas clinch a playoff berth, or will the Fire stave off elimination for one more day? To find out our experts' prediction, as well as other prop picks, read below.

Portland Fire vs. Dallas Wings betting picks and predictions

Dallas Wings -8.5 (-110)

The Fire are 8.5-point underdogs on the road tonight, with a +280 moneyline, while Dallas sits at -360, and Portland has already covered twice as an underdog in this series this year.

The Fire are 4-3 straight up in their last 7 games, and they are 6-1 against the spread during that stretch.

Carleton led five players in double figures with 20 points, while Leite had 10 points and 8 assists in the Fire's 1-point victory in June. In July, DiLeo had 21 points, Leite added 12 points and 11 assists, and Carleton tallied 18 points. The Fire's best players are getting the job done when they face Dallas.

Ogunbowale is averaging 23 points against Portland, while Shepard is averaging 15.5 points and 14.5 rebounds. She has already had one triple-double and one double-double against the Fire.

Bueckers did not play in the first meeting, but had 21 points on 7-for-17 shooting in July's victory.

Dallas is without rookie Azzi Fudd, the 2026 No. 1 overall pick. She is out for the rest of the season, but averaged 14.5 points against the Fire. Aziaha James is also out, having scored 17 against Portland in June.

The third quarter is what hurt the Fire in both meetings. They need to shore up their work after the break if they want to win the season series, which we don't think will happen. Dallas is at home and ready to clinch.

Although Dallas is 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games, those two ATS wins came in their past two home games. Sure, the Wings pounded a 7-31 Seattle squad, but they also covered as 3.5-point dogs in a 91-85 victory over the surging Indiana Fever at home last week.

Look for Dallas to use the home crowd and the chance to clinch a playoff berth as motivation to win and cover tonight.

Over 176.5 points (-110)

The Wings have played to the Under five straight times, but Portland has played to the Over in six of their last eight games, and they will push the tempo to stay with Dallas.

These teams played to the Over in July and will do so again tonight.
