When will AJ Dybantsa Make his NBA Debut?

AJ Dybantsa has waited 19 years to make his NBA debut, but it will not be tonight against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Washington Wizards selected AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, but the BYU product has yet to make his debut due to a lingering ankle injury.

Dybantsa scored 10+ points in each of his four preseason games before injuring his ankle, and will be eager to get on the court in an official NBA game.

The young forward took to social media ahead of the Wizards' game against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, stating, "took me 19 years to get here. a few more days ain't nothing."

The player's post brings hope that he will not be on the sidelines for much longer and could make his debut by the end of the week.

What is AJ Dybantsa's Injury?

Dybantsa injured his left ankle after landing awkwardly during the Wizards' preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 16.

The injury was not considered serious, and the Wizards are exercising extreme caution with their first overall draft pick. Dybantsa remains day-to-day, the same designation he received immediately following the injury.

When will AJ Dybantsa make his NBA debut?
