Cooper Flagg's injury update, timeline, and availability tonight against the Miami Heat.

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg suffered a shoulder injury late in the second quarter in a win against the Indiana Pacers last Friday.

Flagg, the 2025-26 Rookie of the Year, is the future of the Mavericks team, but is at risk of missing multiple games early in the season after the injury. Prior to exiting the game, Flagg scored 14 points, pulled down five rebounds, and provided six assists in 17 minutes.

Kyrie Irving has also been removed from the Mavericks injury report after missing the game against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night as a precaution to manage his left knee. Irving is expected to play tonight against the Miami Heat.

Is Cooper Flagg Playing Tonight vs. Heat?

Flagg is currently listed as 'questionable' to play against the Heat on Monday, October 26th.

The second-year star was seen going through Monday's pre-game shootaround, and will likely play if he's not feeling any discomfort. Flagg is expected to be a game-time-decision tonight against Giannis Antetokounmpo in Miami.

Cooper Flagg Injury Update & Timeline

Cooper Flagg suffered a left shoulder injury against the Pacers on Friday, October 3rd after a flagrant foul committed by Aaron Nesmith on Flagg's breakaway dunk attempt. The Mavericks players immediately got into the face of the Nesmith after the hard foul as Flagg sat under the hoop grabbing his shoulder.

Flagg did not return the game, and also sat out of the Mavericks next game against the Spurs on Saturday, October 24th.

Dallas has officially listed Flagg's injury as left should soreness, meaning that the 19-year-old likely avoided any significant damage to his shoulder.

A specific timeline for Cooper Flagg's injury is not completely clear, but he is not expected to miss an extended period of time. If he does not play tonight, Flagg is expected to return either Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, or Friday against the Houston Rockets.
