Vitinha made is Portuguese National Team debut on March 28, 2022, and has made 37 appearances since.
Vitinha was a member of Portugal's 2022 Qatar World Cup squad, but was not a major contributor for the team. He appeared in three matches, including a start against South Korea in the final group stage match.
Vintinha was a key member of Portugal's 2024/25 UEFA Nations League triumph, playing the majority of the minutes in the tournament and 120 minutes in the final vs. Spain.
Vitinha began his career in the Porto youth system in Portugal. He won trophies during his time with Porto, including two Liga Portugal titles (2019/20, 2021/22), and two Taca de Portugal cups (2019/20, 2021/22).
