Victoria Mboko was forced to withdraw from her singles match against Karolina Pliskova at Queen's on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
At just 19 years old, the Canadian tennis player recently reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 9.
Official details confirmed that Mboko is dealing with an MCL tear in her left knee. While early indications suggest she will not require surgery, the injury forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon.
Mboko was down a set, but up 4-3 when she took a fall on the baseline. While trying to change direction and moving laterally, Mboko's foot slid and she fell hard.
She was on the ground holding her left knee, then was forced to withdraw from the match against Karolina Pliskova.
In addition to her singles match, Mboko was supposed to play on Thursday, June 11, in the Queens Club Quarterfinals alongside Serena Williams.
Before the injury concern, Mboko has been building strong momentum as one of Canada's most promising young talents.
It was announced on June 12, 2026, that Victoria Mboko withdrew from Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the year.
Mboko will miss the remainder of the grass court season, as she takes time to recover.
