The United States is bringing a stacked roster to Germany this summer, including Caitlin Clark, Napheesa Collier, and Paige Bueckers. The team would have even more notable names if A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum did not withdraw from the team due to injury concerns.
The FIBA World Cup will be held in Berlin, Germany this season, with 16 teams competing across 36 games. The United States will face China (9/4), Italy (9/6), and Czechia (9/7) in Group D.
The United States Women have not lost a game in the FIBA Women's World Cup since 2006, when they were beaten by Russia in the semifinals. At the time of that loss, three-time World Champion Breanna Stewart was just 12 years old.
Stewart is returning for her fourth consecutive FIBA World Cup, and has averaged 20.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in the WNBA this season.
