After falling short of a WBC Championship to Shohei Ohtani and Japan in 2023, the USA begins their revenge tour against Brazil tonight.
Team USA's roster is absolutely stacked. Their batting order hasn't quite yet been officially announced, but this was the lineup in its exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday:
Bobby Witt Jr. (SS)
Bryce Harper (1B)
Aaron Judge (RF)
Kyle Schwarber (DH)
Alex Bregman (3B)
Cal Raleigh (C)
Roman Anthony (LF)
Byron Buxton (CF)
Brice Turang (2B)
There's power at every spot in the lineup, and Witt Jr., Buxton, and Turang provide some terrific defense and base running.
The likely starting pitcher for Brazil tonight to face this vaunted lineup is Bo Takahashi - a right-handed pitcher for the Saitama Seibu Lions of the NPB in Japan. Takahashi was once called up to the Major Leagues by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2019, but he never made an appearance.
Takahashi allowed five earned runs and two home runs in one inning two days ago against the Athletics. The US should be able to feast at the plate tonight.
USA is -9.5 (-130) on the run line and -8000 on the moneyline. Below is a look at the home run odds for the US:
Player | 1+ Home Runs | 2+ Home Runs |
Aaron Judge | +130 | +700 |
