The last World Baseball Classic ended in a Shohei Ohtani strikeout of Mike Trout to seal the outright victory for Japan in 2023.
In 2026, the USA is looking for revenge.
Paul Skenes, Tarik Skubal, Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh, Bobby Witt Jr., and more MLB superstars are looking to claim the United States' second ever WBC title.
Japan has won three while the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico have each won once.
The stars for each respective country will be out in full force when the 2026 WBC starts on March 4th.
With 20 total teams competing, the excitement should be off the charts. Here's a look at the odds for all 20 teams to win the 2026 World Baseball Classic:
USA | -110 |
Japan | +350 |
Dominican Republic | +425 |
Venezuela | +900 |
Puerto Rico | +1800 |
Mexico | +2000 |
Canada | +5000 |
South Korea | +6000 |
Netherlands | +7500 |
Italy | +7500 |
Colombia | +7500 |
Cuba | +10000 |
Panama | +10000 |
Chinese Taipei | +15000 |
Australia | +20000 |
Israel | +25000 |
Great Britain | +25000 |
Czechia | +25000 |
Nicaragua | +30000 |
Brazil | +35000 |
The USA's top threat is, of course, Japan (+350). Led by MLB stars Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Seiya Suzuki, Masataka Yoshida, and Munetaka Murakami, this team will be hard to knock off.
The Dominican Republic (+425) will be terrific competition as well, with players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Junior Caminero, Ketel Marte, Manny Machado, Juan Soto Cristopher Sanchez, and many more big leagues.
Venezuela (+900) is led by Salvador Perez, William and Willson Contreras, Eugenio Suarez, Maikel Garcia, and Ronald Acuna Jr. The offense will be dangerous, but there are some holes in the pitching staff.
Rounding out the top-five favorites is Puerto Rico (+1800). PR has had a difficult time fielding their star players due to insurance issues, so they'll be without stars such as Francisco Lindor, Carlos Correa, and Javier Baez.
Regardless, they still have Nolan Arenado, Heliot Ramos, Eddie Rosario, Willi Castro and more on the hitting side, and Edwin Diaz on the pitching side.
