Topuria (17-0) is widely considered one of the most dangerous knockout artists in UFC, and is a two-weight champion.
Topuria took time off to deal with personal matters in late 2025, but will be back for his first title defense against Gaethje on the White House lawn.
Gaethje (27-5), is one of the most successful UFC athletes to never hold an undisputed title. Gaethje will contest his third title against Topuria after coming up short in 2020, and 2022.
At 37-years-old, this may be the American's last great opportunity to win a UFC title. Gaethje claimed the interim championship in Topuria's absence in a victory over Paddy Pimblett in the first UFC event of 2026.
