New York Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham was placed on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain, and manager Aaron Boone delivered an update on Tuesday to give fans clarity on when the slugger could return.
Grisham pulled up limping on the basepaths and had to be removed from the game on June 12th against the Toronto Blue Jays and was subsequently placed on the injured list thereafter.
With Aaron Judge still on the IL with a stress fracture, Grisham's hot bat was much-needed for the Yankees offense. In his place, Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones are expected to get the bulk of the starts in the outfield moving forward.
The severity of hamstring strains are hard to judge and can be re-aggravated easily, so the Yankees will have to play Grisham's injury safely.
On a show with "Talkin' Yanks," manager Aaron Boone said he expected Grisham to be out "a few weeks" with his hamstring injury.
Expect a return in early-mid July. After having a breakout campaign that included 34 homers in 2025, Grisham has hit to the tune of a .747 OPS and eight home runs in 66 games this season.
