Aaron Judge Injury Update, Potential Return Dates for Yankees Superstar

New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge felt discomfort while swinging the bat against the Athletics over the weekend and he was held out of the lineup in the Yankees' recent loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.

The outfielder will also be out of the lineup tonight in the second game of the series vs. Cleveland.

The injury has been somewhat ominous with not much news surrounding what's actually injured. New York revealed that the initial test results came back as a bone bruise in Judge's right rib cage, but he feels it in his right shoulder while swinging.

Manager Aaron Boone said that the 3x MVP has been managing soreness in his shoulder for "the last couple of weeks," per MLB.com, but Boone thought it appeared to hamper him more in the series against the A's.

Judge will have further testing with a specialist today, Wednesday, June 3rd, and he's currently listed as day-to-day. The Yankees haven't ruled out a potential stint on the injured list, however, and more information will be revealed later.

Of course, Judge's absence has a major affect on a Yankees lineup that is first in MLB in home runs and fifth in runs scored. He's slashing .248/.375/.533 with 17 homers in 59 games.

Fellow slugger Giancarlo Stanton hasn't played since April 24th and remains on the 10-day IL. Without their two best power hitters, Ben Rice, Cody Bellinger, Jazz Chisholm Jr, and Trent Grisham will need to carry the offense for the time being.
