The Detroit Pistons have had a magical season so far, comfortably sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 28-9 record.
Unfortunately, two of their starters have gone down recently due to injury: Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris. You can read Duren's injury update here. In this article, we'll focus on Harris.
Harris suffered a left hip sprain in the first quarter of a game against Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 30 and was orignally scheduled to miss "the next couple of games," according to the team.
On Jan. 2, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reported that Harris will be reevaluated in two weeks.
In his second year in his second stint with Detroit, Harris has averaged 13.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game on 45/33/85 shooting percentages. He provides a steady dose of scoring which the defensive-minded Pistons would love to have back.
Considering the two week timetable for his reevaluation, Harris is almost halfway there at the time of writing.
The middle of January is favorable for the Pistons who get six of seven games at home starting on Jan. 10. The 10th is unrealistic for Harris to return, but Detroit gets a four-day break until their next game on the 15th.
Expect Harris to return at some point during the homestand between the 15th and 23rd.
