Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Calgary Stampeders: Prediction & Best Bets

Week 13 of the Canadian Football League continues on Saturday with two games, one of which is a matchup between Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Calgary Stampeders.

This game has an expected kickoff time of 3:00 PM ET and is being played at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

Our article previews this game by giving you our two best bets for the game, as well as a bonus player prop pick. Additionally, we include the current betting odds for the game.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Calgary Stampeders betting picks and predictions

Calgary Stampeders -2.5 (-105)

Our top pick for this game looks for the Stampeders to cover the spread. Calgary enters this game with a record of 4-6 and have eight points on the season. Furthermore, they are currently in last place in the West Division.

Despite their poor record, the Stampeders have occasionally looked like a competent team this season.

In fact, all four of their wins have come by at least a touchdown, and they have won these games by an average margin of 19.0 points per game.

Additionally, all four of their wins this season have come against the mediocre teams in the league.

As for Hamilton, they enter this game with a record of 4-7 and have 8 points on the season.

The Tiger-Cats are currently in third place in the East Division. Hamilton has had a handful of close games this season, however, four of their seven losses have come by at a touchdown.

While Calgary is the clear favorite in this matchup, they still look to be the best betting option.

These teams have previously met once this season, a game where the Stampeders beat the Tiger-Cats by a score of 44-20 in Week 9. Because of this, backing the Stampeders to cover -2.5 is our best bet.

Over 56.5 total points (-105)

Our second pick for this game looks at the over. While it has been established that both teams in this matchup have been inconsistent this entire season, it is also true that Calgary has been one of the highest-scoring offenses this season.

The Stampeders are averaging 37.8 points per game. However, their defense has consistently not performed well, as they are allowing an average of 32.7 points per game.

Hamilton, on the other hand, has been close to the opposite, as they are averaging 23.4 points per game, while allowing 29.0 points per game.

To this point, Calgary is 8-2 to the over this season.

As for Hamilton, they are just 3-8 to the over, however, given that the first meeting between these two teams ended with a total of 64 points, we are backing over 58.5 total points.

Quincy Vaughn anytime touchdown (+110)

Our favorite player prop for this game looks for Calgary's Quincy Vaughn to score a touchdown at any time.

He is listed as a quarterback, but tends to be used as a running option. He has minimal yards this season, just 46 on 25 carries, but Vaughn has eight rushing touchdowns, which not only leads Calgary as a team, but is also tied for the third most in the league.

He has scored at least one touchdown in seven of the 10 games this season, including one against the Tiger-Cats in Week 9. For this reason, backing Vaughn to find the end zone at any time is our play.
