Montreal (13-3) has won three games in a row and sit in first place in the Eastern Division, four games ahead of the second place Toronto Argonauts. Sitting in third in the West Division are the Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-8), losers of four in a row.
Davis Alexander and Tyson Philpot have formed the league's best QB-WR connection and the two have separated themselves in the race to win the Most Outstanding Player award. Alexander has thrown for 5,257 yards, 35 touchdowns, and just four interceptions, completing passes at a 72.1% rate. He's -1400 to win the league's most prestigious award for players. Meanwhile, Philpot has 1,809 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns - both more than double his production in any other season of his career so far.
Saskatchewan's offense has been also been relatively potent as quarterback Trevor Harris has found a rhythm with wide receiver KeeSean Johnson - Harris has over 5,000 passing yards and Johnson has more than 1,200 yards.
These two teams met on Monday - a game that the Alouettes won 44-24, though Johnson was out of the lineup for the Roughriders. He seems to be on track to play in this week's game and should play a big part if healthy.
