Two superstars who have been around for a long time, Stephen Curry and Kawhi Leonard, will look to lead their respective teams to a playoff birth in the Western Conference No. 9 vs. No. 10 Play-In game.
The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers have each had a tumultuous season, but the teams still have a chance to make the playoffs.
After starting the season with a good 25-19 record, a litany of injuries to the Warriors' top players (Jimmy Butler, Curry, Kristaps Porzingis, and Moses Moody) have held each of them out for a very long time - Butler and Moody are done for the season. Now, Golden State is 37-45, but Curry is back.
Curry missed a grand total of 39 games this year, mostly due to pain in his knee, but he still played well in the 43 games when he was healthy. The future Hall-of-Famer averaged 26.6 points and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 39.3% from three on 11.3 attempts.
However, Steve Kerr reported that Curry and Porzingis are still on minutes restrictions and will play less than 40 minutes in the Play-In game.
The Clippers, meanwhile, had a historically bad start to the year. They started 6-21, Chris Paul and Bradley Beal hardly played (and won't play), and then James Harden requested a trade out of nowhere.
Someway, somehow, Ty Lue and Leonard steadied the ship and went 36-19 since the horrible start. Harden netted Darius Garland, and Ivica Zubac was traded for Bennedict Mathurin and more.
Kawhi has had a monster season - he's averaging a career-high 27.9 points per game and is shooting the ball at a 50.5% clip overall and 38.7% from three on a career-high 6.8 attempts per game.
After a "cursed" season for both teams, one of them can still make the playoffs. The winner will have to defeat the loser of the No. 8 Portland Trail Blazers vs. No. 7 Phoenix Suns game to officially qualify.
It should be a close, tough game, with the Clippers favored by 5.5 points and the total set at 221.5. Let's take a look at the player props, odds, and lines for Curry and Leonard respectively on bet365:
