Two elite perimeter offensive threats, Devin Booker and Deni Avdija, will look to lead their respective teams to the NBA playoffs with a win tonight in the Play-In game.
The Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers have enjoyed some unexpected success this season, and now both teams will get the chance to qualify for the playoffs.
The Suns (45-37) are looking to make the playoffs after missing out in 2025. After trading Kevin Durant in the offseason, it was looking like it would be a rebuilding type of year in Phoenix, but first-year head coach Jordan Ott has them as a top-ten defense this year and they have overperformed drastically.
Devin Booker has handled most of the load offensively, averaging 26.1 points and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the field and 33.0% from downtown. The scoring guard has dropped 30+ points in five of his last six games, including a 37-point outburst against the Dallas Mavericks last week.
The Trail Blazers (42-40) come in to the Play-In playing well, having won 10 of their last 14 games. A deep team, Portland has a solid combo of stout defenders and an elite offensive playmaker to be a balanced team.
Their playmaker, of course, is All-Star Deni Avdija who often flirts with a triple-double. Avdija's ability to drive and draw contact isn't pretty to watch, but it's very effective. He's second in the NBA in free throw attempts per game (9.2).
His passing ability has been tremendous as well, and for the season, Avdija is averaging 24.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game while shooting 46.2% from the field and 31.8% from three.
It should be a close, tough game, with the Suns favored by 3.5 points and the total set at 217.0. Let's take a look at the player props, odds, and lines for Booker and Avdija respectively on bet365:
