The Chicago Blackhawks are desperate for a win, and even more desperate to get Connor Bedard back in the lineup after starting the season 0-3. Bedard underwent close-season shoulder surgery in July and is expected to be out for roughly the first month of the campaign. The 21-year-old sensation led his team with 75 points (30 goals and 45 assists) last season.
The Blackhawks brought back franchise legend Patrick Kane to help provide some attacking depth in the lineup, but without Bedard, Kane and Tyler Bertuzzi have not been able to provide enough of a spark to carry the Blackhawks to victories.
The St. Louis Blues have started the season 1-1. They dominated the Dallas Stars 4-0 in the opening game of the campaign, but were demolished 6-1 by the Colorado Avalanche in their second outing.
21-year-old Slovakian Dalibor Dvorsky has started brightly, scoring a goal in each of the first two games in just his second year in the league.
