Fresh off being announced as the MVP of the 2026 season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder look to continue their undefeated play in the playoffs tonight.
SGA became just the 14th player in NBA history to win back-to-back MVPs, and the first since Nikola Jokic did it in 2021 and 2022.
His reaction to winning MVP said a lot. His nonchalant attitude, showed that there's only one goal in mind: Become the first team since the 2017 and 2018 Golden State Warriors to win back-to-back championships.
The Thunder dominated the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers in the first two rounds as SGA, Chet Holmgren, Ajay Mitchell, and the Thunder defense swept both teams with ease.
Now, they'll face a San Antonio Spurs team that won 62 games and four out of five against the Thunder in the regular season.
Despite the losses, Shai was terrific in four of those five games. He scored 29+ in all but one game, and shot 50.9% from the field in during that span.
San Antonio's will be the toughest that he's faced in the playoffs so far, as Stephon Castle hounds guards and De'Aaron Fox is quick enough to stay in front.
