Seattle Mariners: Team Profile

The Seattle Mariners joined the American League as an expansion team in 1977 and played in The Kingdome for its first 22 years of existence - the prior home of the Seattle Seahawks - before moving to T-Mobile Park in 1999.

Throughout the years, the Mariners have had some legendary players (Ken Griffey Jr., Ichiro Suzuki, Edgar Martinez to name a few), but they have yet to make a World Series in their nearly 50 years of existence.

There is hope that this iteration of the team, led by Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, and a superb pitching staff, can finally make it to the biggest stage in baseball. Last year, they won their division for the first time since 2001.

The Mariners are in the AL West division where they compete against the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, and the Athletics.
