Home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Bay Area stadium has hosted two Super Bowls (2016, 2026), and is set to host World Cup matches for the first time in 2026.

The Bay Area in California is set to host six 2026 World Cup matches at the San Francisco Bay Area stadium, which is located is Santa Clara, located South of San Francisco and just North of San Jose.

The San Francisco Bay Area stadium will host 71,000 fans during the World Cup, which is expanded from the typical 68,500 person capacity.

The Stadium is one of the newest that will host World Cup matches in 2026, and is known for it's sustainable and high-tech design. San Francisco Bay Area Stadium is home to a famous 'green-roof' which was added to to top of West Suite Tower in 2016.

The green-roof is a massive 27,000 square foot garden, with 6,500 square feet converted into a an organically maintained rooftop farm. Known as "faithful Farm", it provides fresh vegetables for local on-site dining.

San Francisco Bay Area stadium will host six World Cup matches, including five group stage fixtures, and one knockout round game.
