The United States Men's National Team's roster for upcoming friendlies has been announced by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The USMNT will face Peru (9/26) and Chile (9/29) in their upcoming friendlies with a number of exciting young players in the squad, including the Philadelphia Union's star duo of Cavan Sullivan and Neil Pierre.
Many prominent players such as Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, and Weston McKennie have all been left off the roster, allowing the introduction of eight teenagers.
Among those eight teenagers, six of them play in MLS, while Zavier Gozo (Crystal Palace) and Mathis Albert (Borussia Dortmund) are both on teams playing in one of the three UEFA competitions (Champions League, Europa League & Conference League.
The USMNT will also face Mexico (10/3) and Canada (10/6) in the first week of October following the friendlies against Peru and Chile.
Here's a look at USMNT roster named by Mauricio Pochettino:
Name | Club | Age |
Chris Brady | Chicago Fire | 22 |
Matt Freese | New York City FC | 28 |
Diego Kochen | Lyngby Boldklub | 20 |
Brian Schwake | Nashville SC | 25 |
Matt Freese was the starting goalkeeper during the 2026 World Cup, and although he is at risk of losing the No. 1 spot to Nashville SC's star Brian Schwake, or rising talents Chris Brady and Diego Kochen after failing to impress this past summer.
Name | Club | Age |
George Campbell | West Brom | 25 |
Sergino Dest | PSV Eindhoven | 25 |
Alex Freeman | Villareal | 22 |
Peyton Miller | New England Revolution | 18 |
Neil Pierre | Philadelphia Union | 18 |
Chris Richards | Crystal Palace | 26 |
Antonee Robinson | Fulham | 29 |
Miles Robinson | FC Cincinnati | 29 |
Auston Trusty | Celtic | 28 |
Frankie Westfield | Philadelphia Union | 20 |
Reliable starters Chris Richards and Antonee Robinson will be joined by multiple defenders looking to making an impression on Pochettino.
Pochettino will surely be impressed by the size and physicality of 18-year-old Neil Pierre, but will be be consistent enough to be Richards' long-term partner in the center of defense?
Name | Club | Age |
Tyler Adams | Bournemouth | 27 |
Mathis Albert | Borussia Dortmund | 17 |
Sebastian Berhalter | Middlesbrough | 25 |
Adri Mehmeti | New York Red Bulls | 17 |
Yunus Musah | AC Milan | 23 |
Brooklyn Raines | New England Revolution | 21 |
Gio Reyna | Strasbourg | 23 |
Cavan Sullivan | Philadelphia Union | 16 |
Malik Tillman | Bayer Leverkusen | 24 |
Mathis Albert has not played many games for Borussia Dortmund, but the prospect has the potential to be the next great American attacker from the academy that produced Pulisic and Gio Reyna.
Cavan Sullivan has been tearing up MLS since the World Cup break, and finally gets his first call-up to the senior national team alongside fellow star prospect Adri Mehmeti from New York Red Bulls. Sullivan will turn 17 years on on Monday, September 28th, just two days after the USA host Peru at Inter.co Stadium in Orlando, FL.
Name | Club | Age |
Cole Campbell | SV Elversberg | 20 |
Justin Ellis | Orlando City | 19 |
Zavier Gozo | Crystal Palace | 19 |
Julian Hall | New York Red Bulls | 18 |
Ricardo Pepi | PSV Eindhoven | 23 |
Ricardo Pepi is the only attacker named to the roster who has been a consistent contributor to the national team. He's unlikely to start all four of the upcoming friendlies, which will allow Pochettino to see what Julian Hall and Justin Ellis can produce in that position.
