The city of Philadelphia, the birthplace of America will take center stage in 2026 as it celebrates the nations 250th anniversary.
With the historic milestone around the corner, the city is set to host a packed lineup of events that blend sports, culture, and celebration. Philadelphia will be buzzing all summer long. Here's a look at the events the city will host during this landmark year.
The PGA Championship is the second Major golf event of the season. The tournament is conducted by the PGA of America.
Each year it features one of the strongest fields in the sport, only accepting professionals into the field.
The 2026 PGA Championship will be played at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. The golf course is located just outside the city of Philadelphia. The tournament is scheduled for May 11-17th.
Philadelphia will host six 2026 FIFA World Cup matches at Lincoln Financial Field between June 14 through July 4, 2026.
The schedule includes five group-stage matches June 14, 19, 22, 25, 27 and the Round of 16 match on Saturday, July 4, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The MLB All-Star Week will take place in Philadelphia from July 10-14, 2026, hosted at Citizens Bank Park.
This marks the fifth MLB All-Star game being hosted in Philly, but the first at Citizens bank. The All-Star game is returning for the first time since 1996.

The UFC is bringing a championship bout back to Philadelphia for the first time in 15 years.
UFC 330 is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The event was recently announced by Pennsylvania's Governor Josh Shapiro and UFC CEO Dana White.
The main card of UFC athletes has not been announced yet, but it expected to be full of UFC stars.
The Philadelphia Cycling Classic is returning on August 30, 2026. It is a premier, free-to-watch one-day pro cycling race, featuring both men's and women's field.
The race runs along the Schuylkill River and finishes on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It is returning for the first time since 2016.
