Patrick Mahomes has been playing like a certified MVP candidate for the first time since 2022, and will have a great opportunity to put up stats against the Chargers this in Week 6.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have started the season undefeated at 4–0 and will face the winless Los Angeles Chargers after an early bye week.
Through the first four games, Mahomes has passed for 1,037 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. His connection with Travis Kelce has been excellent once again, but Mahomes has otherwise spread the ball around to several receivers. To emphasise that point, six different players have caught touchdown passes from Mahomes, while five players have recorded at least 10 receptions through four games.
One obvious factor that has benefited Mahomes this season is the addition of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III. The Chiefs have been a poor rushing team in recent years, but Walker has immediately helped turn that around. With opposing defenses now having to worry about the Chiefs’ ground game, Mahomes has had more time in the pocket to find his receivers downfield.
