LIV Golf is known for bringing the sport of golf to new places around the world, and for the first time ever LIV Golf is in Africa.
On March 19, 2026, 57 players will tee off at The Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg. It is a four round, 72-hole format with no cuts, featuring thirteen teams, and five Wild Card players.
The all-South African, Southern Guards GC team, captained by Louis Oosthuizen, and teammates Dean Burmester, Branden Grace, and Charl Schwartzel were all involved throughout the process of bringing a tournament to their home country of South Africa.
The Club at Steyn City Preview

The Club at Steyn City is one of the largest golf complexes in South Africa. The club has hosted DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour events.
There are two major factors that players may not be accustomed to heading into this tournament.
The thick Kikuyu fairway grass and rough will be a challenge for players unfamiliar with it. The ball will sit up higher, making it better for striking, finding yourself in the rough will make the escape more difficult.
The altitude is around 4,430 feet above sea level, the thinner air provides extra carry distance. While the altitude does not shorten the yardage, it affects the club selection by reducing the spin.
The tournament will feature all of LIV's biggest names and a $20 million purse.

Jon Rahm is the Legion XIII Captain and two-time LIV Golf Individual Champion, he is currently the season-long individual points leader with four straight top-5 finishes, including his most recent individual win in Hong Kong (March 8, 2026).
On Thursday March 19th, Jon Rahm will tee off in Group 1, starting on Hole 1, with Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel.
Bryson DeChambeau (+1100)
Bryson DeChambeau is the Crushers GC Captain, and is coming off an individual win in Singapore last week (March 15, 2026). Where he defeated Wild Card player Richard T. Lee in playoffs. Bryson is one of the biggest names on LIV and has had a successful 2026 so far.
On Thursday March 19th, Bryson will tee off in Group 2, starting from Hole 1, with Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen.
Joaquin Neimann (+1600)
Joaquin Neimann is the captain of Team Torque GC, the team has found great success during regular season events over the years.
Neimann holds the record for most individual victories in the LIV Golf League, securing five in 2025. He has yet to win an individual title in 2026, South Africa could be where he claims his 8th Individual title.
On Thursday March 19th, Neimann will tee off in Group 19, starting on Hole 18, with Dean Burmester and Thomas Detry.
