A wave of departures is reshaping professional golf ahead of 2027 with several notable names confirming they will not return to LIV.
The 2026 LIV Golf season featured 14 scheduled events, though only 12 were played. With the 2027 season quickly approaching, the schedule is not the only concern.
Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed were among the first to depart prior to the 2026 season, with Koepka returning to the PGA Tour and Reed moving to the DP World Tour, turning heads over whether others would follow.
Following the financial withdrawal of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment fund, many players have chosen to move on, including Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, who recently announced their departures from the circuit.
The list doesn't stop there, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Thomas Detry are part of a group of more than ten LIV golfers taking legal action to demand severance payments. While only five players have publicly committed to a prospective "LIV 2.0" league, new investors reportedly want to scale it to 30 or 40 players.
