Reed started his career on the PGA Tour where he found early success and earned a reputation as a fierce Ryder Cup competitor with a 7-3-2 overall record. However, his time on the Tour was far from smooth sailing, he faced several high-profile controversies involving rule disputes and personal challenges that led to intense media scrutiny. Which led to him to part ways with the Tour for LIV Golf in 2022.
Reed's time with LIV was relatively short-lived, when he abruptly announced his departure in January 2026. It marked the first step in his quest to return to the PGA Tour. He has been serving his one-year suspension from the Tour and is competing on the DP World Tour full-time looking to earn his Tour card back.
As an Honorary Lifetime Member of the DP World Tour, he came ready to compete and has put together an incredibly strong run, capturing the Dubai Desert Classic and Qatar Masters titles.
He currently sits in first place in the season-long Race to Dubai standings, with the top ten players earning a PGA Tour card. It is looking promising that Reed's quest for a 2027 PGA Tour card will be successful.
