There are still plenty of unknowns surrounding what LIV Golf 2.0 will look like next season, but if one thing is certain it's that Jon Rahm will not be on the roster.
The Spanish golfer joined LIV Golf in December 2023 and it was estimated he was guaranteed $350 million to join. However, a lot has changed for the circuit and players after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) abruptly confirmed they would end funding at the end of 2026.
During a bankruptcy hearing, Rahm's attorney John Beck said:
He has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0... and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward.
During his time on LIV, Rahm won four individual tournaments and the season-long LIV Golf Individual Championship across 2024, 2025, and 2026. As a marquee face for LIV Golf, he proved to be a formidable competitor on the roster.
It has not yet been announced where Rahm will play next year or whether he will rejoin the PGA Tour. Wherever he heads next, he retains a lifetime exemption into the Masters; his exemptions for The Open and PGA Championship run through 2028, and his U.S. Open exemption runs through 2031.
