LaMelo Ball will make his highly anticipated debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight in a battle with the Miami Heat - who added a star of their own in the offseason.
Ball was traded by the Charlotte Hornets to the Wolves in a four-team trade in early July for a package that included Naz Reid, a 2033 first-round pick, and three second-round picks. Minnesota also traded Julius Randle to the Brooklyn Nets for Isaiah Evans as part of the trade.
Minnesota is hoping that Ball's elite playmaking and ball-handling can take some pressure off of Anthony Edwards' workload, allowing him to find easier buckets off-ball. Ball will keep the ball moving and push it in transition, a stark contrast for a heavily-isocentric offense in years prior.
Along with his playmaking, he can get hot from deep and turn into a big-time scorer. Last year, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds while shooting a career-high 36.8% from deep in 72 games. Take a look at his player props for his Wolves' regular season debut below:
