The Colorado Avalanche were the NHL’s best team during the 2025–26 regular season, finishing with an overall record of 55–16–11, including a 31–11–6 mark at home. They won the Presidents’ Trophy with 121 points.
Head coach Jared Bednar and his team were phenomenal, but they unfortunately fell victim to the Presidents Trophy Curse, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights in a four-game sweep in the Conference Finals.
Colorado will open the regular season against the Los Angeles Kings, whom they swept in the First Round of last season’s playoffs.
Los Angeles finished last season with a 35–27–20 record and were led by Swedish forward Adrian Kempe. Kempe led the Kings with 36 goals and 37 assists, totalling 73 points. Those are strong numbers, but they pale in comparison with the 227 points Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas combined for last season.
The Avalanche enter the season with +700 odds to win the Stanley Cup with bet365, while the Kings are priced at +3000.
