Jeremiah Smith continues his Heisman campaign this Saturday when the Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers.
It's a battle between the two best teams in the Big Ten and the No. 4 and No. 5 ranked teams in the country respectively. The Buckeyes are fresh off blowout wins versus Illinois, Iowa and Maryland, a solid response to their Week 2 loss at Texas. Indiana is unscathed in the loss column, though they had to sneak out wins against Northwestern and Nebraska late.
Already the best receiver in college football when he stepped onto the field as a true freshman in 2024, Smith has steadily gotten better and is now regarded as one of the best wideouts in college football history. There are no real weaknesses in his game - his size, speed, strength, hands, route running, and after-the-catch ability are all in the 99th percentile, and he's on track to become the No. 1 overall selection in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Smith is second to Oregon State's Jesse Legree in yards (916) and touchdowns (11), while his 48 receptions rank second to Wake Forest's Carlos Hernandez. On bet365, Smith is -220 to win the Heisman trophy.
Indiana may be okay with letting Smith get his while limited the rest of the Ohio State receiving corps, similarly to how they did in the Big Ten Championship game last year. Smith had eight receptions for 144 yards in that game, but the rest of the Buckeyes had just 120 yards and the team only scored 10 points.
Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM ET. Below is a look at Smith's odds to score, along with yards and receptions, provided by bet365.
