Gonzalo Segares leads the U20 USMNT into the quarterfinal of the Concacaf Championship on Tuesday against Guatemala.
The USA U20 team is undefeated through three games of the tournament, with victories over Haiti (3-0), El Salvador (3-0), and Cuba (5-0).
This will be the first United States National Team game for any age group since the news of Mauricio Pochettino's four-year extension as the senior manager. Pochettino is now under contract through the 2030 World Cup, after leading the USMNT at the 2026 World Cup on home soil.
USA U20 is led by 18-year-old captain and center back Chris Applewhite of Huntsville City FC in MLS Next Pro, and forward Rueben Ramos of Ventura County FC. Ramos is the team's leading scoring with three goals in as many games so far in the tournament.
Guatemala have reached the quarterfinals after a 0-1 loss to Costa Rica, a 4-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda, and a 0-4 loss to Mexico in the first three rounds.
Guatemala U20 are captained by Antigua Guatemala midfielder Selvin Sagastume.
