Maja Chwalinska is making history as the an unranked qualifier.
Before the 2026 French Open, the Polish player had only one main-draw Grand Slam victory to her name: a straight-sets win against Katerina Siniakova at Wimbledon in 2022.
Her journey began with a first-round victory over Olympic gold medalist Qinwen Zheng. This was followed by wins against 23rd seed Elise Mertens, Maria Sakkari, and home favorite Diane Parry to reach the quarterfinals.
Then, she defeated Perry and 25th seed Diana Shnaider 7-6, 6-4 in the semifinal. Now, she's the first player since Emma Raducanu in 2021 to make a Grand Slam final as a qualifier.
She'll square off against the No. 8 seeded teenager Mirra Andreeva.
Andreeva was equally impressive in her semifinal demolition of 15th seed Marta Kostyuk, who had beaten her twice this season and arrived on a 17‑match clay winning streak.
Andreeva has long been projected as a future Grand Slam winner, but the magical play of Chwalinska might make the young star wait for her title.
Chwalinska vs. Andreeva will start at 9:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 a.m. CT / 6:00 a.m. PT from Philippe Chatrier court in Paris, France - the main clay court at Roland Garros.
Chwalinska vs. Andreeva will be broadcast on truTV and TNT in the U.S., available via cable and live streaming services such as YouTube TV.
