The Philadelphia Flyers finished last season strongly, winning 12 of their final 16 regular-season games. They then defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the playoffs before coming up against a formidable Carolina Hurricanes side in the second round.
However, the Flyers did not begin this season as they would have hoped after ending the previous campaign with so much promise. They faced the Penguins last night and suffered an embarrassing 7–0 defeat. Philadelphia will look to respond immediately when they travel to New Jersey tonight.
The Flyers will be the New Jersey Devils’ first opponents of the 2026–27 season.
The Devils missed out on the NHL Playoffs last year but have several key players to build around, including Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier.
