The Sepang International Circuit will host a unique F1 race in 2026, as the stand-in location of the relocated Bahrain Grand Prix.
The original Bahrain Grand Prix was cancelled due to regional conflict in Iran, and was later moved to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
This marks the first time that F1 will race at the Sepang Circuit since 2017, and previously hosting the Malaysian Grand Prix starting in 1999.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place at the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The Sepang International Circuit is located in Selangor, Malaysia. The Circuit is located next to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and roughly 50 milometers south of the city of Kuala Lumpur.
The Sepang International Circuit is 3.444 miles (5.543km) in length, contains 15 turns. To entire Grand Prix includes 56 laps.
The track features very free flowing laps which makes for an exiting race. There are multiple different aspects of the track which allow for overtakes and high speed competition.
Sepang is also known for unpredictable weather, extreme heat, and high humidity which can influence the outcome of the race.
The signature grandstands feature canopy roofs shaped like the leaves of local palm oil trees, reflecting the surrounding plantation landscape.
The Sepang International Circuit was built between 1997 and 1999, officially opening in March 1999.
The circuit was designed by the famous German designer, Hermann Tilke of Tilke Engineers & Architects. Sepang was Hermann Tilke's first international Formula 1 circuit designed entirely from scratch, including the track layout, grandstands, and full infrastructure.
