The Buffalo Bills get positive updates on DJ Moore and Ed Oliver after both players picked up injuries against the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
The Buffalo Bills' offense was unstoppable against the Detroit Lions last week, winning 41-31 on Thursday Night Football. Unfortunately, Josh Allen's top wide receiver, DJ Moore, left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury.
The Bills also lost star defensive lineman Ed Oliver during pregame warmups after he suffered a non-contact hip injury.
Both players are currently listed as day-to-day, and neither injury is considered to be serious. Buffalo (2-0) hosts the Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) on Sunday, September 27, giving Moore and Oliver a much-needed nine days to recover before the next game.
While both are initially designated as questionable, their participation in practice this week will shed light on their availability for Sunday's game.
DJ Moore Injury Update
DJ Moore suffered an AC joint sprain after hitting the turf hard near the goal line while attempting a diving catch from Josh Allen with three minutes remaining in the second quarter.
He received on-field treatment from the training staff before walking to the locker room under his own power. Moore was initially listed as questionable to return, but was officially ruled out at halftime.
Prior to the injury, Moore was struggling to make an impact. The 29-year-old recorded zero catches and one rushing attempt for a loss of one yard before his exit.
Ed Oliver Injury Update
Ed Oliver was an unexpected scratch before the home opener after not appearing on the injury report at all during the build-up to the game.
The defensive tackle suffered a hip injury in pregame warmups and returned to the locker room shortly before the Bills submitted their inactive list. Oliver reported that his hip was spasming, and with insufficient time to fully evaluate the issue, the team decided to hold him out to prevent further aggravation.
Oliver is considered day-to-day and has a good chance to play against the Chargers on Sunday.
