QB Kyler Murray Injury Update and Return Timeline

Kyler Murray suffered a head injury in his regular-season debut with the Minnesota Vikings against the Green Bay Packers.

In the first quarter, on a third-and-7 scramble, Murray slid at the Vikings' 35-yard line and was struck by Packers defensive end Lukas Van Ness and safety Javon Bullard. Bullard was penalized for unnecessary roughness after a late hit knocked Murray's helmet off.

Murray received medical treatment on the field and was eventually able to walk to the locker room for further examination. He was ruled out of the game with a concussion.

Carson Wentz will be the starting quarterback until Murray returns, against the Packers Wentz threw three touchdown passes and led the team to a 39-22 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Kyler Murray's Return Timeline

Kyler Murray is in the league's concussion protocol and is listed as day-to-day by head coach Kevin O'Connell. It is likely that Murray will be able to return Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
