The Colorado Avalanche have dominated the NHL playoffs thus far, starting it 6-0 after sweeping the Los Angeles Kings and taking the first two games versus the Minnesota Wild.
Game 1 was one of the ages. The Avs went up 3-0, blew the lead, then came back quickly and won with a historic 9-6 final score.
14 different players scored in that first game, with Cale Makar being the only one to score two. While the Avalanche won, both teams felt disgusted by their lack of defense and goaltending.
The Wild responded by putting veteran Filip Gustavsson in net, but Colorado managed to still put up five goals in Game 2.
The 14 goals scored by the Avs in the first two games of a series is the fourth most of all-time. No team has matched that number since the 1978-79 Toronto Maple Leafs.
Now, with the series swinging back to Minnesota, the Wild need a win. They can't afford to go down 3-0 to the team that won the President's Cup in the regular season.
Minnesota's best defender, Joel Eriksson Ek, has been out with an injury and still has not skated, leaving his status in doubt for the rest of the series. Regardless, Wild players have stated that they still feel confident coming back in this series without Ek and Jonas Brodin.
Game 3's puck drops on Saturday at around 9:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM CT / 7:00 PM MT. Ahead of the game, let's take a look at the series props, lines, and odds for the Wild to make a comeback:
