With the Masters right around the corner, Collin Morikawa is hoping to find his rhythm again. The two-time major champion has not been an active player in the PGA Tour field for a few weeks now.
Morikawa is currently ranked No. 8 (OWGR), he most recently won the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and has had three top-10 finishes so far this season.
Collin is also a part of the Los Angeles Golf Club TGL team. He was not able to participate in the Series Finals against Jupiter Links because of his injury this week.
On March 12th, Collin Morikawa withdrew from the 2026 Players Championship, after the first hole during the first round.
When Morikawa teed it up on Hole 11 (second hole of the day), he sustained a lower back injury.
Collin was not in the field for the Valspar Championship or the Texas Children's Houston Open. He most recently withdrew from the 2026 Valero Texas Open on March 31, 2026.
This is not the first time that Collin Morikawa has dealt with back troubles, he had to withdraw from the 2023 Memorial Tournament.
Collin has bounced back from back injuries before, and this setback shouldn't be any different.
Marty Smith, a reporter for ESPN, reported that "his recovery from a back issue that forced him to withdraw from the Players Championship continues to go well and is targeting a return at next week's Valero Texas Open."
Morikawa's expected return at the Valero Texas Open on April 2-5th will no longer happen as he withdrew from the tournament on March 31, 2026, due to ongoing back issues.
The next tournament after the Valero Texas Open is The Masters.
