The Solheim Cup brings the best women's golfers from the United States and Europe together for three days of competition.
Since its debut in 1990, the Solheim Cup has become one of the biggest events in women's golf, bringing the United States and Europe together every two years.
The United States lead the all-time Solheim Cup record 11-7, but the U.S. Team has not won on European soil since 2015.
2026 Solheim Cup Format
Foursomes: On Friday and Saturday morning, two players will compete together playing one ball in alternating order on each hole. One point will be given to each team for a win, and a tie will result in each team earning a half point - no points are awarded for losses.
Four-ball: On Friday and Saturday afternoon, the four players play their own ball and the lowest individual score from each pair counts as the team's score for the hole. The point structure is the same as foursomes.
Singles: All 12 players from both the U.S. and European teams compete head-to-head in singles matches. The captains decide the order in which their teammates will play, submitting their lineups without knowing the opposing team's selections. The point structure remains the same as the first two days.
