Cameron Boozer and the Memphis Grizzlies play their third game of the NBA Summer League tonight against the Atlanta Hawks in Utah.
Boozer, the No. 3 overall pick out of Duke, has played well in his first two professional games in the Utah circuit of Summer League. His efficiency, passing ability, rebounding, and shooting have all been put on full display for the high-floor prospect.
He dropped 15 points on 7-11 shooting in 24 minutes of action in his first game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, then scored 18 points on 6-9 shooting (4-5 from three) against No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson and the Jazz last night.
Boozer has been selective with his shots and he'll grow to become more confident calling his own number as he ages, but it's already clear that he'll be the go-to offensive hub in the regular season. He's shown off a terrific feel in post-up situations, knowing when to shoot and when to pass. He can hit cutters or make the skip pass to an open shooter in the corner, reminiscent of some of Nikola Jokic's passes.
Today his primary matchup will be against 23rd overall pick Zuby Ejiofor, a 6'9 forward out of St. John's who played against Duke and Boozer in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The two physical forwards battled and Boozer got the last laugh, finishing with 22 points and leading the Blue Devils to a win.
Ejiofor will be looking for some revenge in tonight's game between two 1-1 teams. Ahead of tip at 7:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM CT / 4:00 PM PT from Salt Lake City, here's a look at Boozer's player props, with odds provided by bet365:
