Kimi Antonelli’s win last weekend has put the Italian firmly in the driving seat in the Drivers’ Championship ahead of this weekend’s Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Victory in Monte Carlo saw the 19-year-old move up to 156 points in the Drivers’ Championship, with 66 points between himself and second-place Lewis Hamilton.
Antonelli already has five race wins to his name this season and the Mercedes ace will certainly take some stopping at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
Having seen his Mercedes team-mate George Russell win the opening race of the 2026 season at the Australian Grand Prix, Antonelli has gone on to win the following five meetings.
Starting with victory in China, the rising star has gone on to take chequered flags in Japan, the USA, Canada and Monaco.
Driving with experience beyond his years, the Silver Arrow starlet is performing with great confidence and he should again be the one smiling come the end of the race on Sunday.
With this being the very first Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, there is no previous race form to consider, which possibly boosts Antonelli’s odds slightly.
He’s undoubtedly the form driver in this moment and Antonelli to win Sunday’s race at odds of -105 is hard to overlook.
Antonelli replaced a certain Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes following his high-profile move to Ferrari and, after a tough first campaign last term, the Brit is starting to show flashes of his former self with the Scuderia.
Bagging a third-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai back in March, Hamilton has gone on to climb up to second place in the Drivers’ Championship and is beginning to look increasingly comfortable in his new surroundings.
Second-place finishes in his last two races in the Canadian Grand Prix and the Monaco Grand Prix have seen the seven-time world champion soar up the standings and re-establish himself among the frontrunners.
Hamilton seems to be relishing driving in a competitive car once again and the 41-year-old will be determined to continue building on his recent podium finishes. With Ferrari showing improved pace over the last few race weekends, there is every reason to believe he can remain firmly in the mix at the front of the field.
Given he heads to Spain following back-to-back second-place finishes, another spot on the podium in Catalunya catches the eye at odds of +275.
Earning the second podium finish of his fledgling F1 career last weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix, Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar continues to be a driver to look out for on the grid.
Making a name for himself with his maiden F1 podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix last season, the French racer has looked strong in recent weeks and is rapidly establishing himself as one of the sport's brightest young talents.
Securing that third-place finish in Monaco on the back of a fifth-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, the 21-year-old has shown consistently that he can get among the points in a competitive field. His confidence appears to be growing with every race and he has looked increasingly comfortable battling against some of the biggest names in F1.
A first race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya brings its unpredictability but, given the way he’s raced in the last two meetings and the momentum he currently possesses, the +275 appeals for Hadjar to finish in the top six again on Sunday.
