Nova was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on January 14, 1994, making him 30 years old.
Supernova has amassed a 24-fight professional career since turning pro in 2016, but the Puerto Rican was active in the sport far earlier when competing in the amateur ranks.
The 30-year-old captured the vacant North American Boxing Association super-featherweight title when beating Sulaiman Segawa in Boston, Massachusetts in 2018 and he successfully defended that strap against Luis Castillo Leal in 2019.
Nova is 5’9'' and boasts a reach of 72”. The Puerto Rican operates in the super-featherweight division, which has a weight limit of 130lbs.
Nova began boxing at the age of 12 and the 30-year-old totalled a record of nearly 180 amateur bouts before turning professional in 2016 and the Puerto Rican fought four times in his opening year of paid competition.
By the end of 2018, Supernova had moved to 14-0, with ten of those victories coming by stoppage.
Nova had also collected the NABA super-feather title when beating Segawa in Boston, Massachusetts and the 30-year-old was being touted as a future world-level performer.
More victories followed for Nova, who defeated the likes of Avery Sparrow, Richard Pumicpic and William Encarnacion before a 2022 contest against Ramirez.
Supernova cut to featherweight to face the former world champion and, while the Puerto Rican had some success in the early part of that New York clash, Ramirez ended Nova’s challenge with a fifth-round stoppage.
The 30-year-old immediately stepped up to the super-featherweight division and he got back on track with victories over Adam Lopez and Romero.
Last year’s triumph over Romero came via a stunning third-round knockout in Las Vegas and Supernova does carry respectable power at the weight.
Nova's next fight is yet to be announced.
Nova and Humberto Galindo fought to a draw on November 2, Nova's first career draw in more than 25 professional fights.
Nova's net worth is unknown, although through fight earnings it is expected to be between $750,000 and $1 million.
