The Montreal Alouettes have the best record in the CFL after 16 games and the shortest odds of winning the ninth Grey Cup in franchise history. The Alouettes are led by Most Outstanding Player (MOP) favourite Davis Alexander, as well as two of the league’s top wide receivers, Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead.
Montreal is one of four teams to have already clinched a playoff spot and is expected to receive a first-round bye.
The Edmonton Elks and BC Lions have also clinched playoff spots and have the next-shortest odds of winning the Grey Cup this season. Both teams’ quarterbacks, Nathan Rourke and Cody Fajardo, are also MOP candidates, but they will need to be outstanding over the final two weeks of the season to take the award from Alexander.
The Toronto Argonauts have won the most Grey Cups in CFL history and, with a strong playoff run, could win the trophy for the 20th time.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are competing for the final two playoff spots as the regular season draws to a close.
