Davis Alexander, the quarterback of the red-hot Montreal Alouettes, is the clear frontrunner for the CFL Most Outstanding Player award in 2026. Alexander leads the league with 3,140 passing yards and has led the Alouettes to an 8-1 record through nine games.
The 27-year-old has two elite pass catchers, Tyson Philpot (1,154 receiving yards and seven touchdowns) and Tyler Sneed (940 receiving yards and six touchdowns), who make his job in the pocket look easy.
Alexander's top weapon, Philpot, has been running wild on opposing defenders all season long and has become the second favorite to win the Most Outstanding Player award. Philpot leads the CFL in receiving yards and touchdowns.
Edmonton QB Cody Fajardo has climbed the MOP ranks, passing for 3,109 yards (2nd most in CFL) and 17 touchdowns this season for the 7-3 Elks.
Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Trevor Harris has the fourth-best odds to win the CFL's most prestigious individual trophy. Harris has passed for the fourth-most yards in the league (2,826) and has the second-most passing touchdowns (20).
Reigning M.O.P. Nathan Rourke slides into fifth in the odds table to win back-to-back Most Outstanding Player awards. The BC Lions quarterback has only played seven games so far this season, and his numbers have not lived up to expectations. However, fans will expect him to regain form down the stretch.
The CFL's leader in passing touchdowns, Vernon Adams Jr., was also making a strong case for the award. Adams had passed for 2,548 yards (5th), 22 touchdowns (1st), and only two interceptions, but Calgary Stampeders 33-year-old QB suffered a potentially serious injury and could miss multiple weeks.
