2025 Ryder Cup: Team Europe Profile

European captain Luke Donald has announced his team ahead of the the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

Europe's roster is the exact same as it was two years ago, with the exception of Rasmus Hojgaard taking to place of his twin brother Nicolai in 2025.

European Roster

Automatic Qualifiers:

Rory McIlroy

McIlroy made his Ryder Cup debut in 2010, and has helped Europe to five wins in his seven appearances. McIlroy completed his career grand slam by winning the 2025 Masters - one of only six male golfers to ever accomplish such a feat.

McIlroy used to dub the Ryder Cup an exhibition, but after playing his first tournament in 2010 has been one of Europe's most passionate players.

Ryder Cup record: 16-13-4

Robert MacIntyre

This will be MacIntyre's second Ryder Cup after playing superbly in 2023. The Scotsman finished second to Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championships in 2025, and will look to take revenge on the American at Bethpage Black.

Ryder Cup record: 2-0-1

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood will be making his fourth appearance in the Ryder Cup after debuting in 2018. Fleetwood is undefeated in foursomes with a 4-0-0 record.

The veteran earned his first PGA Tour win this year by winning the TOUR Championship by three strokes and a score of 18-under.

Ryder Cup record: 7-3-2

Justin Rose

Justin Rose has lost some of his consistency in recent years but strong performances in big tournaments continue to earn him a guaranteed spot in the Ryder Cup team.

This will be Rose's seventh Ryder Cup after making his debut in 2008.

Ryder Cup record: 14-9-3

Rasmus Hojgaard

Hojgaard is the only golfer from team Europe who will be making his Ryder Cup debut. Rasmus' twin brother Nicolai was on team Europe's 2023 roster but makes way for his brother this year.

Ryder Cup record: Rookie

Tyrrell Hatton

Hatton will be playing in his fourth Ryder Cup. The Englishman struggled in his first two appearances before going 3-0-1 in Rome in 2023. Hatton and fellow LIV golfer Jon Rahm played well in foursomes in 2023 and we will likely see them paired together again.

Ryder Cup record: 3-4-3

Captain's Picks:

Shane Lowry

Lowry debuted in 2021 and will be making his third appearance. Lowry is considered one of the World's best iron players. He is also one of Europe's most passionate golfers in the Ryder Cup.

Ryder Cup record: 2-3-1

Sepp Straka

Straka is back for his second Ryder Cup, and has won two PGA Tour tournaments in 2025.

Ryder Cup record: 1-2-0

Ludvig Aberg

The 25-year-old from Sweden incredibly made his Ryder Cup debut before is major debut. This will be his second Ryder Cup.

Ryder Cup record: 2-2-0

Viktor Hovland

Hovland debuted at the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straights, and will be making his third appearance for team Europe.

Ryder Cup record: 3-4-3

Matt Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick debuted in the 2016 Ryder Cup, and nobody who has played in more than one Ryder Cup has a worse record. The Englishman has played some of the best golf of his career in the last few months, so a better record could be on the horizon at Bethpage Black.

Ryder Cup record: 1-7-0

Jon Rahm

Rahm is undefeated in foursomes with a 4-0-0 record, and will be looking to build on that number in his fourth appearance in the tournament.

Ryder Cup record: 6-3-3
