Wrexham and Birmingham City are reportedly set to battle Ligue 1 duo Lens and Rennes for the signature of Rapid Wienna midfielder Romeo Amane.
Amane, 23, only joined the Austrian side from Swedish outfit BK Hacken 18 months ago, but now looks set to earn himself a big move.
An Ivory Coast youth international, Amane has made a name for himself as a combative, defensively minded midfielder, making just shy of 50 appearances last season, registering five goal contributions.
His form in Austria has led to reported interest from a number of clubs across Europe, with a race for his signature set to progress this summer.
According to Peter O'Rourke via X, Championship sides Wrexham and Birmingham City are set to join Ligue 1 duo Lens and Rennes in the hunt for Amane's signature.
According to O'Rourke, the interest from Lens comes as they look to secure a replacement for Mamadou Sangaré, who looks set to join Premier League side Brentford, for a club record fee.
Alongside the four teams mentioned, Amane has also had interest from Sheffield United and FC Copenhagen this summer, with the Ivorian set to have his pick of the bunch for his next move.
While yet to win any silverware in Austria, Amane was part of a BK Hacken squad which won the Swedish title, as well as two Swedish cups during his three years in Scandanavia.
Both Birmingham City and Wrexham are looking to strengthen their hands ahead of the new season, with both having promising returns to the second tier last campaign.
Blues have already secured five signings this Summer, as Chris Davies looks to improve on the 10th place finish last time out.
Meanwhile, Wrexham came within a whisker of securing a spot in the play-offs - as they chased a miraculous fourth consecutive promotion - with Phil Parkinson's side requiring quality rather than quantity, looking to go one better in 2026/27 and reach the top flight for the first time.
